Fencing is bought by the kilogram, so the cost of a fence is mostly its weight. Enter the length and type of fence and the rate you have been quoted; the calculator gives the weight of mesh and barbed wire, the number of posts and the material cost.
Weights from IS 2721 (chain link), IS 4948 (welded mesh) and IS 278 (barbed wire, middle of the weight range); concertina at about 7.5 kg per 600 mm coil covering about 5.5 m stretched. Cost = your rates × the quantities — ask us for a delivered rate per kg. Line wires, stays, fittings and labour are extra.
Always ask for the wire diameter in mm, the mesh opening and the coating, then compare the price per kg. A cheaper price per square metre is often a thinner wire. For the full weight tables: chain link, welded mesh, barbed wire, concertina.

By weight: the kilograms of mesh and barbed wire times the rate per kg, plus the posts and fixing. Work out the weight from the wire diameter and mesh opening, then apply the quoted rate.
For a 1.8 m high fence in 50 mm mesh with 3.15 mm wire, about 414 kg of fabric, plus line wire and posts.
Length divided by the post spacing, plus one — at 3 m spacing, a 300 m fence needs 101 posts, plus stays at corners and ends.
Tell us your dimensions, wire specification and quantity — we'll come back with a quotation and lead time.
