Rockfall netting is double twisted hexagonal mesh supplied in rolls, anchored at the crest of a slope and hung down the face. Rock that detaches is held against the slope and guided down to a catch ditch at the toe.
The two names describe the same thing. A tender may call it rockfall netting, rock fall netting, drapery mesh, slope netting or simply double twisted mesh rolls — it is one product, and we quote it the same way whichever term your specification uses.
Because the mesh is double twisted, a wire cut by a sharp rock does not unravel the net. For higher energy slopes it is combined with anchors, cables and rock bolts designed for the site.

In rolls, commonly 25 m long and 2–4 m wide, in 10×12, 8×10 or 6×8 mesh, GI or PVC coated. Rolls are draped down the face from an anchored crest cable and laced to each other along their edges.
Rolls follow a different rule from boxes: length is +1 m / −0 m (never short) and width is ±D, the nominal mesh opening. So the roll you receive is never less than the ordered length.
Simple drapery is designed to guide — it keeps loose rock against the face and lets it travel down to a collection point at the toe rather than bouncing onto the road. Systems meant to arrest rockfall are anchored and pre-tensioned to a specific energy rating, which is a design decision for your engineer.
