Chain link fabric woven from PVC coated GI wire — a galvanized core inside a PVC jacket, usually green. It lasts longer than plain GI in wet, salty or polluted air, and looks finished up close.
The same interwoven diamond mesh as GI chain link, woven from our PVC coated GI wire: mild steel wire, hot-dip galvanized, then jacketed in extruded PVC. Two barriers stand between the steel and the weather, so the zinc is not consumed while the jacket is intact. Sizes are given as core / outside diameter, e.g. 2.50 / 3.50 mm.
| Mesh (mm) | Core / outside (mm) | GI fabric (kg/m²) | PVC coated fabric (kg/m²) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 | 2.00 / 3.00 | 1.83 | 2.14 |
| 40 | 2.50 / 3.50 | 1.81 | 2.06 |
| 50 | 2.50 / 3.50 | 1.47 | 1.68 |
| 50 | 2.70 / 3.70 | 1.71 | 1.93 |
| 63 | 2.70 / 3.70 | 1.37 | 1.55 |
| 75 | 2.70 / 3.70 | 1.16 | 1.31 |
These are the common sizes — we make PVC coated chain link in every mesh and wire size, as we do GI, in widths 0.90 to 3.00 m and rolls of 5 to 25 m or to your requirement. There is no separate Indian Standard for PVC coated chain link — the fabric follows IS 2721 and the jacket our PVC wire specification (nominal 0.50 mm). Work out any size with the chain link weight calculator.
Send the mesh, the core diameter (or gauge), the height and the run length — or the BOQ item — and the colour. We supply the line wire and binding wire in matching PVC coated wire. Get a quote →
Chain link mesh woven from galvanized wire with a PVC jacket over it, usually green. The jacket protects the zinc, so the fence lasts longer in wet, salty or polluted air.
For 50 mm mesh on a 2.50 mm core (3.50 mm outside), about 1.68 kg per square metre; on a 2.70 mm core (3.70 mm outside), about 1.93 kg/m².
It lasts longer wherever the zinc would be attacked — near the sea, in wet ground, in industrial air — and looks neater. In a dry inland site, heavy galvanized chain link is the economical choice.
