Who we are

This website, agarwalgabions.com, is operated by Agarwal Gabion Industries (“we”, “us”), manufacturers of gabions, wire mesh and fencing, with its office at 52, Zakaria Street, CR Avenue, Kolkata – 700073, West Bengal, India. For the purposes of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described below.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through our contact form we collect what you type in: your name, phone or WhatsApp number, and — if you provide them — your company, email address, the product you are interested in, quantity, site location and message.

When you contact us directly by phone, WhatsApp or email, we receive whatever you send us through that channel.

When you click a contact button (WhatsApp, call, email, quotation or brochure) we record an anonymous count: the type of button, the page and product it was on, and the website that referred you. This contains no name, number, email, IP address or other information that identifies you.

If you accept cookies, Google Analytics records how the site is used: pages viewed, time on the site, the website or search that referred you, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, which contact buttons you click and whether an enquiry was sent. It uses cookies and a random identifier; it does not receive your name, phone number, email or the contents of the enquiry form. If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.

When you browse the site our hosting provider automatically processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type in its server logs, as every website host does, to deliver pages and keep the service secure.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we do not collect sensitive data such as financial or health information through this website.

Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quotation, including calling or messaging you about it.
• To follow up on that enquiry and, if you place an order, to supply it.
• To understand, in aggregate, which pages and products lead to enquiries so we can improve the site.
• To keep the website secure and prevent spam.

We process enquiry details on the basis of your consent, which you give by submitting the form, and for the purpose you contacted us about. We do not sell your personal data and we do not send you marketing you have not asked for.

Who else is involved

We use a small number of service providers that process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — stores enquiries and the anonymous click counts in a secured database.
• Resend — delivers a copy of each new enquiry to our email inbox.
• Netlify — hosts the website.
• Google — supplies the web fonts used on the site; provides Google Analytics, which is only loaded if you accept cookies; and the map on our Contact page, which is only loaded if you accept cookies or choose to show it.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside India. We share personal data with anyone else only if the law requires us to.

Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies. The website remembers your cookie choice in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask you again.

Only if you click Accept on our cookie notice do we load:

• Google Analytics, which sets the cookies _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visits and understand how the site is used. These typically last up to 2 years.
• Google Maps on our Contact page, which can set Google’s own cookies. You can also load just the map with Show map.

If you click Decline, neither is loaded.

You can change your choice at any time with the cookie settings link, or by clearing your browser’s site data.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details submitted through this website for 3 years from the date you sent them, so that we can refer back to earlier quotations if you come back to us. After that they are deleted automatically. If you become a customer, records connected to orders and invoices are kept for as long as tax and company law require. Anonymous click counts contain no personal data and may be kept longer. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Analytics account, and is deleted automatically after that.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
• correct, complete or update it;
• erase it, and withdraw the consent you gave by submitting an enquiry;
• nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf.

Write to us at agarwalgabions@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Security

Enquiries are stored in a database that the public website can write to but cannot read back; only authorised staff can view them after signing in. The site is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
