Galvanized mild steel wire sheathed in a PVC jacket — two independent barriers between the steel core and everything the site can throw at it.

What it is

Two barriers are better than one

PVC coated GI wire starts as galvanized mild steel wire — already protected by its zinc layer — and adds an extruded PVC jacket over the top. The zinc guards the steel electrochemically; the PVC keeps water, salts and soil chemicals away from the zinc.

The result is a dramatically longer service life in exactly the conditions that destroy bare wire: permanently submerged works, tidal and coastal zones, and ground with aggressive chemistry.
