Why Agarwal Gabions

Every specification we build to is a deliberate engineering decision — in favour of strength, longevity and value that shows up on site, not just on paper.

The four decisions

Engineering choices that outlast the alternatives

These are the questions clients ask most often. Here is exactly where we stand and why.

Double twisted, not single twist

Two wires twisted together at every junction mean the mesh will not unravel even if one strand is cut in transit, during filling or in service. Damage stays local and the panel keeps distributing load — a single-twist or welded mesh can run a failure across the whole unit.

Machine woven, not hand woven

Machine weaving holds mesh geometry and wire tension constant across every square metre. Hand woven mesh varies panel to panel and weaver to weaver, which means unpredictable weak spots. Consistency is what makes engineering performance repeatable.

Gabion walls, not rigid RCC

Gabion retaining walls are flexible, free-draining and self-settling. They absorb ground movement instead of cracking under it, and they relieve water pressure rather than damming it. They also need no formwork, no curing time and no imported aggregate.

PVC coated, not bare GI

A PVC jacket over galvanized wire adds a second, independent corrosion barrier. In submerged, tidal and chemically aggressive ground that difference is measured in years of extra service life — which is why PVC is specified for river training work globally, including across Assam.

The factory

Located where the work is

Our factory in Ethelbari, West Bengal is positioned close to the markets it serves — Sikkim, Bhutan and the North East. That proximity is not a detail: for heavy, high-volume products like gabions, transit distance is a large share of delivered cost.

With seamless connectivity to major trade routes, we deliver faster and at lower landed cost into exactly the regions where gabion demand is highest.

  • Strategically located for Sikkim, Bhutan and North East India
  • Reduced transit times and lower delivered cost
  • In-house manufacturing — we control schedule and quality
  • Cross-border supply experience into Bhutan

Raw materials

Straight from the manufacturers

We procure raw material to ISI standards, directly from verified manufacturers — no opaque middle layer.

Verified ISO quality

An ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system (Cert. No. 305024011282Q) governing how we buy, make and check.

Transparency

You know what steel is going into your structure and to which standard it was bought.

Cost efficiency

Buying direct to ISI standards keeps quality predictable and pricing competitive.

Capability

Eight application areas, one supplier

Slope protection, erosion control, check dams, channel lining, retaining walls, rockfall protection, geo-textile filter fabric and landscaping — plus customized solutions for endless other applications.

Slope Protection

Soil stabilization around bridges, piers and abutment slopes.

Erosion Control

River training, bank stabilization and flood mitigation.

Check Dams

Flood, soil erosion and stormwater runoff control.

Channel Lining

Weed-resistant, flexible alternative to concrete linings.

Retaining Walls

Holding back soil and creating usable land in hilly terrain.

Rockfall Protection

Netting and drapery that hold loose rock against the face.

Geo-textile Filter Fabric

Laid under gabions to stop soil loss while letting water drain.

Landscaping

Terraces and features that combine function with aesthetics.

Customized Solutions

Made to your drawing for endless other applications.
