Srinagar is built along the Jhelum, which floods the valley floor when heavy rain meets snowmelt. Its banks, embankments and flood spill channels need continuous protection, and the streams that join it — the Sindh, Lidder, Vishaw and others — erode their banks and the roads beside them.
Around the valley, the highways towards Jammu, Sonamarg and the passes climb through slopes that slide and drop rock. We supply contractors in Srinagar and the Kashmir Valley with gabions, mattresses, rockfall netting and fencing.

The working season runs from spring snowmelt to the onset of winter; river works are best done in the low-water months before the spring rise, and material needs to be in the valley before the highway is disrupted by snow.
River and channel works: PVC coated mattresses and boxes over a geotextile.
Highway walls: heavily galvanized 10×12 boxes, 2.70 or 3.00 mm wire, and 8×10 rockfall netting.
Freeze–thaw is hard on coatings: specify heavy zinc or PVC, not light galvanizing.
Fencing: chain link to IS 2721, welded mesh to IS 4948, barbed wire to IS 278 and concertina coil — galvanized or PVC coated.
