Haldwani and Kathgodam sit where the Kumaon hills meet the plains. The Gaula river leaves the hills here, wide and boulder-strewn, and erodes its banks in flood; the roads up to Nainital, Bhimtal and Almora climb through slopes that slip in the monsoon.
Haldwani is the staging town for much of the material that goes up into Kumaon. We supply contractors there with gabions, mattresses, rockfall netting and fencing.

The monsoon runs from about late June to September. River and road works are built from October to June.
Gaula banks: boxes and mattresses with heavier wire — the river carries boulders.
Hill roads: heavily galvanized 10×12 boxes and 8×10 rockfall netting.
Fencing: chain link to IS 2721 (commonly 50 or 75 mm mesh), welded mesh to IS 4948, barbed wire to IS 278, concertina coil (600 mm is the usual tender size) — galvanized or PVC coated.
