Dibrugarh stands on the south bank of the Brahmaputra, which has eroded towards the town for decades; protecting the bank with spurs, revetments and aprons is permanent work here. Around it, tea estates, oil and gas installations and factories need drainage, culvert protection and fencing.

Dibrugarh is supplied from our Ethelbari works by road up the Brahmaputra valley. River works need material on site before the rains, so order early in the dry season.
Upper Assam is wet from about April to October, with the Brahmaputra at its highest in July and August. River protection is built from November to March.
River works: PVC coated mattresses and boxes over a geotextile, with sack gabions for aprons and emergency work.
Estate drains: 0.23 m PVC coated mattresses.
Fencing: chain link to IS 2721, barbed wire to IS 278, concertina coil for secure perimeters.
