Hill road walls, slope and rockfall protection in Garhwal and Kumaon, river training on the Ganga headwaters. Gabion boxes, revet mattresses and wire mesh made to IS 16014:2024 by an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer.
Uttarakhand's roads climb the young, fractured mountains of Garhwal and Kumaon along the Alaknanda, Bhagirathi, Mandakini, Yamuna and their tributaries. Road widening cuts the slopes steeper, cloudbursts in the monsoon bring debris down in hours, and rivers scour the toes of the very slopes the roads hang on.
Gabions are the standard answer here because they are built from the stone that lies at the site and they keep working when the ground moves. We deliver gabion boxes, facia units, rockfall netting and mattresses to contractors across Uttarakhand from our works in West Bengal.
Gravity walls holding the road formation and the cut slope above it.
Netting draped over fractured rock faces above the roads to the shrines and border areas.
Facia units where the valley side leaves no room for a wide gravity wall.
Mattresses and boxes protecting road embankments and bridge approaches from river scour.
Gabions go folded flat in bundles with their lacing wire, so a truck carries a great deal of wall and freight is for wire, not rock. The fill is the stone already on the hillside or in the river bed.
On mountain roads the last stretch is often the hardest; tell us how the site is reached and we plan the load size accordingly.
The monsoon, July to September, brings the cloudbursts and slips. Most wall building is done from October to June; at higher altitudes winter snow shortens the season further.
Hill walls: heavily galvanized boxes, 10×12 mesh; 3.00 mm wire where walls are tall, boxes are handled hard or debris strikes the face.
Rock cuttings: rockfall netting anchored at the crest — large or frequent rockfall needs a designed system, not drapery alone.
Rivers and streams: PVC coated mattresses and boxes where the units stand in fast, gravel-laden water.
Send the clause from your drawing or BOQ and we will confirm the mesh type, wire diameters and coating against it before quoting.
Orders for the rest of India are dispatched from our West Bengal works on the national road and rail routes — Jangalpur near Kolkata, or Ethelbari in the Dooars for the north, whichever is nearer the site. Send your BOQ or drawing with the site location and we will quote a delivered price.
