For channel lining and bank armour, revet mattresses in 6×8 mesh are the usual choice — 0.17, 0.23 or 0.30 m thick depending on the velocity the section carries.
Anything permanently wet should be PVC coated over galvanized. For a dry bank face above the waterline, galvanized wire is normally sufficient.
