North Bihar's rivers — the Kosi, Gandak, Bagmati and the Ganga itself — carry huge monsoon floods and shift their courses, making flood embankments and river training some of the largest civil works in the state.

Bihar is served from our Jangalpur works at Howrah rather than from the Dooars — it sits on the eastern trunk routes, which is the sensible side to dispatch from for the Ganga plain and north Bihar.
On flood work the quantities are large and the stone is heavy, so the economics rest on carrying wire rather than rock: the fill comes from near the site and the mesh comes from us.
The Kosi, Gandak, Bagmati and Ganga carry their floods from June to September, and that is when embankments are tested rather than built.
Construction therefore belongs to the dry months, with material in position before the rivers rise. Sack gabions are the exception, made to be filled and placed into moving water during a breach.

Embankment slope protection normally uses revet mattresses with gabion boxes at the toe, sized to the section the drawing gives.
For permanently submerged work — aprons, spurs, anything below low water — specify PVC coated over galvanized. Zinc alone is consumed fastest exactly where the structure is hardest to reach later.
